Drifta Trek shares view on kwacha music awards and why the late Daev should be honored.

The Kwacha MUSIC Awards are the biggest music awards in the land that appreciates the Art of Music  Therefore, I really feel Deav Zambia's music and talent needs to be honoured in this year's Kwacha Music awards. #GFM Daev's album is a record breaking album with over a million streams within 48hrs . The measure for his contribution to the music industry is way bigger, longer and stronger than the period he spent in the industry, only a few can do that and for this great contribution he really deserves to be honoured.  Hustle University Album Dropping soon Credit: Drifta Trek.

There is a lesson to be learned here - Must read.

Kelis is not the songwriter or producer of “Milkshake” so her money stopped after she stopped performing it. She doesn’t get to make any decisions regarding the song. She does not continue to get paid from the song. Beyoncé puts out a song called “Energy” in which there is an interpolation of Milkshake, not a sample. Beyoncé legally clears the use with the songs producers and adds Kelis as a songwriter which means she can NOW get paid for years to come.  Kelis goes on a tangent calling Beyoncé a thief and says she could have had the decency to call her, even though she didn’t have a legal obligation to do so. Instead of Beyoncé responding negatively, she simply removes Kelis as a songwriter and the use of a simple “La La La” that would have gotten Kelis paid for life.  Now Kelis is back to square one, no credits and no money from a hit song she didn’t even own. And y’all thinking Beyoncé was wrong? If anything, it’s a surprise gift. Hey, I know you didn’t get taken care...

Here is why Jae Cash withdraws from the Zambian Music Awards.

Its with deep regret that I wish to announce my withdrawal from this years Kwacha MUSIC Awards. Let me firstly thank the management and organisers of the award show and for once again according me the opportunity to be nominated. However, my heart isn't at peace looking at a list which i feel is not a true representation of actual facts on the ground especially in the category of Best Album of The year. Its my sencere hope that in future, The organisers will take a much more appropriate approach when selecting nominees in order to fully and wholly recorgnise the hard work the players are putting in (it’s too much unrecognized talent being left out that need a platform like yours out there).  It is also my duty to sharpen up my field of work if i feel things aren’t being done right & clearly  I believe in building the zambian music industry therefore i will not be involved in anything that i feel alters that .  👏🏾I know my boy will bring home the trophies🏆...

Dax teases new video on August 10th.

Most people aren’t in willing to grow with you. They’ll ask you why you changed instead of asking themselves why they’ve remained the same. That’s life for you. You’re going to lose people as you take the next step to bettering yourself and the hardest part is accepting there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Breaking generational curses will sometimes require you to walk alone. There will be no one clapping, no one supporting, often times no one even at the finish line. These curses are broken in silence and force you to deal with the person you’ve been running from. Yourself…August 10th 9am…New video. Credit: Dax official fb page.

LONG STORY SHORT-B Flow talks about T Bhoy.

When I first moved to Lusaka from Kabwe, T-Bwoy was the first musician I met and worked with. We have literally known each other since we were teenagers. When we were 19 years old, we recorded a song where he shouted "Chant it out" and I told him that I liked that slogan so much that I would later rephrase it as "Chant it on" and made it my musical signature. I co-wrote and featured on a few songs on his first album 'Amama' though most people only got to know T-Bwoy after 'Mwati Uziba'. We literally perfected our Dancehall skills together until we were ready to take over. Before the fame, we once walked home from town together around 3am after being denied an opportunity to perform at a show which was for 'big stars'. With his martial arts skills, he managed to keep away the street kids that tried to make our night-walk difficult 😁. There were many other nights when we had to promote our music at night as upcoming artists and had to walk h...

It’s NOT a black and white thing, It’s NOT a male and female thing, It IS a HUMANITY thing - Must read humanity story.

Today I made a traffic stop on this vehicle as it had a flat tire. The man pictured here was traveling to see family and was aware the tire was flat. He began explaining to me that he had a “donut” tire as a spare, however he did not have a jack to change the tire. I told him I had one in my patrol vehicle and offered assistance in helping him change it. I grabbed the Jack and began to place it under his car. He thanked me but said he could not allow a female to change his tire. He started jacking it up but didn’t know how to take off the center cap. I assisted him in removing it. He had some difficulties with the Jack which required me to lay on the ground and change placement. As he was jacking the car back up he was obviously in pain, telling me that he had been shot 8 times and has severe leg/back pain. I put the donut on and tightened the lugs. Let the Jack down and sent him on his way. He inadvertently left an item at the scene of the traffic stop, so I caught up to him to return...
