When I first moved to Lusaka from Kabwe, T-Bwoy was the first musician I met and worked with. We have literally known each other since we were teenagers. When we were 19 years old, we recorded a song where he shouted "Chant it out" and I told him that I liked that slogan so much that I would later rephrase it as "Chant it on" and made it my musical signature. I co-wrote and featured on a few songs on his first album 'Amama' though most people only got to know T-Bwoy after 'Mwati Uziba'. We literally perfected our Dancehall skills together until we were ready to take over. Before the fame, we once walked home from town together around 3am after being denied an opportunity to perform at a show which was for 'big stars'. With his martial arts skills, he managed to keep away the street kids that tried to make our night-walk difficult 😁. There were many other nights when we had to promote our music at night as upcoming artists and had to walk home afterwards because we couldn't afford a taxi. Shishita was in full effect but we always found our way around by walking through Kabwata, Libala and Chilenje on Friday nights. Those were really risky nights but we thank God all that is history now. To cut a long story short, my former study mate is now a bwana ku stango. I'm proud of you T!
Someone will say I'm behaving like a praise singer but imwe let me sing the praises for my friend in whom I'm well pleased😁.
Congratulations Wisi Tamika on your graduation! Chant it out and chant it on!
