Aiccra Zambia Internship and Innovation Grant (i2g) at the Confucius Institute - The University of Zambia. This project focuses on facilitating Climate Sustainable Agriculture and providing access to Climate Information Services as we work towards a #ClimateSmartZambia. This work is a partnership between CGIAR and partners such as  BongoHive, International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and Zambia's leading universities. The 3 year project will empower young agri-students and agripreneurs to either fit the job market, or launch their agribusinesses.  In the afternoon I sat as Judge in the Bongohive ideas jam that saw 50 students grouped into tens in order to come up with solutions to a problem they have identified in the Agricultural sector. Zambia and Zimbabwe have jointly offered 2132 hectares of land to African Union for the first SADC multi-billion dollar Wakanda One Village project. Zimbabwe offered 2000 hectares of land while Zambia brought forward 132 hectares. Zambia made its offer and Zimbabwe’s offer was confirmed by African Union Ambassador to the United States of America Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao at the Intra African Trade Fair which was held in Cairo, Egypt. The Wakanda One Village project will be constructed in Victoria Falls area which borders the two countries. According to media reports, the project will serve as a first of its kind in Southern Africa region. It is set to include a 100-bed teaching hospital, a university and a technical college, primary and secondary schools, day-care centres, three five-star hotels, a game lodge, a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, agricultural farms and parks, to mention the few. Former Prime Minister Abe was devoted to both the country he served and the extraordinary alliance between the United States and Japan. I will always remember the work we did to strengthen our alliance, the moving experience of traveling to Hiroshima and Pearl Harbor together, and the grace he and his wife Akie Abe showed to me and Michelle. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to the people of Japan who are very much in our thoughts at this painful moment.

Accompanied by the First Lady of Italy, Signora Laura Mattarella, we visited the 'Stay in School Initiative Project' in Woodlands, Lusaka. This worthwhile Initiative, works with cooperating partners to train women in tailoring to make reusable sanitary towels. These are then distributed to vulnerable school girls in Zambia’s rural areas. With the availability of reusable pads, schoolgirls are able to consistently attend classes, as lack of proper sanitary hygiene can lead to school absenteeism.

We all have people we started chasing the musician dream together with, who are still trying even today, when some of us have made it even repeatedly or over and over for many years.
