I had the privilege of being host of the launch of Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa - Lulu Woods
Aiccra Zambia Internship and Innovation Grant (i2g) at the Confucius Institute - The University of Zambia. This project focuses on facilitating Climate Sustainable Agriculture and providing access to Climate Information Services as we work towards a #ClimateSmartZambia. This work is a partnership between CGIAR and partners such as BongoHive, International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and Zambia's leading universities. The 3 year project will empower young agri-students and agripreneurs to either fit the job market, or launch their agribusinesses.
In the afternoon I sat as Judge in the Bongohive ideas jam that saw 50 students grouped into tens in order to come up with solutions to a problem they have identified in the Agricultural sector. The session was structured in a way which fostered quick thinking and even faster decision making. The ideas generated were promising and I look forward to hearing more ideas!
As a farm girl myself, I am excited to see the innovative ideas and solutions to the current problems we face in agri business. I am grateful to be able to use my platform to shed light on the incredible work being done, after all everyone needs food lol.
